Ann Marie Vick

Ann Marie Vick was welcomed into heaven on August 7, 2026.She was born to her joyful parents, Aubrey and Marie Bruner Vick, on February 15, 1955 in Bryan, Texas. As a precocious only child, she was well-loved and never met a stranger, filling her life with good friends.With giftings of sharp intellect and wit, Ann reveled in great conversations, traveling, writing, and solving all kinds of puzzles. Her mother passed on to her a keen passion for math and numbers. She was ever-the-student, and learning was a life-long joy to Ann.She graduated from Bryan High School in 1973, and later graduated with a bachelor’s degree (and work toward a master’s degree) from Sam Houston State University. Although not technically an Aggie, Ann loved cheering on the Aggie sports teams!After college, Ann taught computer courses in a private school, and wrote manuals for the classes. She created and ran other workshops for women under Baylor College of Medicine, and edited many books.Although Ann enjoyed being single, she was considered a loving stand-in mom to several young people. Her wisdom and care for others was always evident, as she loved Jesus and took His light wherever she went.Ann’s life was filled with miracles! She was deeply impacted by God’s unwavering grace and mercy that saw her through a major car accident in her younger years, when she was pronounced deceased. She was miraculously raised to life by God, and loved sharing her testimony and giving Him all the credit. In later years she fought a courageous battle with cancer, again crediting God with her complete recovery.Ann was deeply passionate about several ministries, including Save Our Streets Ministries (S.O.S.) and Community Bible Study. She joined Community Bible Study in 2018, first as a class member and later as a part of the leadership team. She also served as a substitute Core Group Leader. Perhaps the place she loved serving most was in the nursery, where she cared for many babies, showering them with the love of Jesus. The Community Bible Study family held a very special place in Ann’s heart, and she was deeply loved by those who had the privilege of serving and studying God’s Word alongside her.Ann believed she could overcome any obstacle with God’s help, and she proved this time and again!
