Barbel R. Bowling, age 78, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away Monday, June 22, 2026. She was born in Karlsruhe, Germany, on July 30, 1947, to the union of Wilhem Ernst Maier and Friederike Brunner. She was employed as a serger operator.
Barbel dearly loved her family and possessed a good sense of humor. Her family would say that she could be feisty at times, but everyone loved her for her strength and her wisdom. In her spare time, Barbel enjoyed doing crochet, word search puzzles, and watching soap operas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gerold and Bernd Maier; sisters, Gisela, Edelgard, and Waltraud.
Barbel is survived by her sons, David Rouse Jr. (Rosemarie), James Rouse (Teresa), Jack Rouse (Melissa) and Allen Bowling; sisters, Agathe and Christa; eleven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren who will deeply miss her.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the convenience of the family.
