Berthy Gelé

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Monsieur Berthy Gelé, who passed away at CHUS Fleurimont on June 6, 2026, at the age of 85. He was the husband of Jocelyne Gervais and the son of the late Emmanuel Gelé and Marie Liaigre.

He leaves behind his wife Jocelyne, his children Daniel (Nathalie Bendo), Mario (Marie-Claude Pérusse and grandchildren Océanne, Kamély, and Delphine), and Sylvia (Patrick Blanchette); his grandchildren Samuel (Josianne), Alexie (Vuk), Mérylee (Frédéric), Émy (James), Cédrick, Zachary, Bianka (Marc-André), Philippe (Allyson), and his great-grandchildren Azra, Charlotte, Juliette, Miles, Céleste, Jules, Rose, and Ludovick. He was the brother of Guylaine (Paul Bérubé), Chantal (Lucien Lavoie), Sylvie (Pierr e Raymond), the late Abbe Jean, the late Albert (Mariette Cayer), the late Guy (Bernadette Jacques), the late Serge (Lucille Jacques), the late Michel (Rachel Nadeau), the late Claude (Claudette Gilbert), and the late Lionel.

He was also the brother-in-law of Marcel (Lucille Isabel). The family expresses their deepest condolences and invites friends to pay their respects on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 9 AM to 12 PM at the Coopérative funéraire de l’Estrie – salon Rock Forest, 951, rue du Haut-Bois Sud, Sherbrooke.
