Betty Carol Gilmore (Sidbeck), a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, partner, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on September 18, 2026, at the age of 80. She was born on March 30, 1946, in Tooele, Utah, to Elma Irene Price-Sidbeck.
Betty spent most of her life in Wenatchee, Washington, before moving to Yakima, Washington, in 2005, where she continued to create a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories with her loving partner, Ervin Johnson.
Throughout her life, Betty had a heart for helping others. She worked for many years as a caregiver for mentally challenged adults, providing compassion, patience, and kindness to those in her care. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her work, as she was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer advice, or simply be there for someone who needed to talk.
Betty enjoyed cooking, camping, fishing, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. She loved plants and had a special knack for bringing even struggling or nearly forgotten plants back to life. She enjoyed yard sales, and the simple joys of finding treasures and making memories. Betty also had a special love for babies and could never pass one by without stopping to talk to them. She had a way of making people feel welcome, and to Betty, nobody was ever a stranger. She loved visiting with others and could turn a simple conversation into a meaningful connection. Her warmth, generosity, and caring nature touched the lives of many.
Betty is survived by her loving partner of 21 years, Ervin Johnson of Yakima, Washington; her children, LuAna McClellan and her husband, Scott McClellan both of Wenatchee, Washington; Debbie Gilmore of Tonasket, Washington; Henry Gilmore Jr. of Tonasket, Washington; Tonja Holton of Yakima, Washington; and Shawn Gilmore of Yakima, Washington. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who brought her endless love, happiness, and pride.
Betty was preceded in death by her mother, Elma Irene Sidbeck, her daughter, Carol Gilmore, who passed away in May 2020, her two grandson's, Jamie Moore and Shane McClellan, and her great grandson, baby Eliseo Rangel III.
Betty leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, compassion, and memories that will continue to live on through her family and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be held at a later date.
