Betty Carolyn Funderburk, 93, of Belmont, North Carolina, was born June 4, 1933, in Lattimore, North Carolina, and died July 6, 2026. Betty retired from Southern Bell after 30 years of service. She was a charter member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Charlotte and a member of the Order of The Eastern Star.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 10, 2026 at Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Rd., Charlotte, NC with Rev. Joe Mullis officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park, Charlotte. The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Betty is survived by her son, James Everette Funderburk, Jr. (Lisa); her daughter, Brenda Funderburk Furr; her grandsons, Timothy Scott Furr, Sr. and James Everette Funderburk, III; her granddaughter, Amanda Dillard; her great grandsons, Timothy Scott Furr, Jr. and Nicolas Furr; and her great-great grandson, Timothy Scott Furr, III. Betty is also survived by several nieces. In addition to her parents, William Drayton Mintz and Edith McCraw Mintz, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, James Everette Funderburk, Sr.
