Betty Lou Workman, 65, of Charleston, passed away May 1, 2026 at her home unexpectedly.
She was born May 24, 1960 in South Charleston, the daughter of Eugene and Mary Jane Withrow Asbury. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Larry Workman, of Dunbar, brothers Curtis, Jr., and sister Judy Withrow.
Betty was formerly employed at Riverside Nursing Home. She loved gardening, and spending time with her family. A loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend that will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sons, Larry Workman (Melody) , of South Charleston, and Brian Workman, of St Albans, grandchildren Olivia McCrary, Ella Workman, Kasen Workman, and Kingsley Workman, brother David Asbury (Tina), of Poca, sisters Elizabeth Cobb (Randy), of St Albans, and Dianna Burns (Kenneth), of St Albans, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Betty’s life will be 7:00 P.M. Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home with Pastor Jacob Burgess officiating.
Gathering of family and friends will be from 5 until time of service at the funeral home.
