Betty Samberg

Betty Samberg (née Goldberg) passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, at the age of 98. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on October 8, 1927, Betty was the beloved wife of the late Saul Samberg. She was an avid mahjong player who treasured time spent laughing with friends. Above all, she was fiercely devoted to her family and was a loving and protective mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Larry (Eileen), Arthur (Lynn), and Marilyn (Epi); her grandchildren, Leah (Brian), Matthew (Diana), Mark (Cody), Stuart (Amy), Joshua (Jessica), and Jared (Mikhaela); and her cherished great-grandchildren, Sam, Seth, Morris, Isaac, Joey, Jayden, Noah, Charlotte, Ainsley, Avery, and Cory. A graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Knollwood Park Cemetery, Glendale, Queens, New York. Shiva will be observed at the following locations: Sunday, July 26, 2026, 5:00–8:00 p.m., Home of Marilyn Abrahamson and Epi Calcara, 41 Pasture Drive, Farmingdale, NJ; Tuesday, July 28, 2026, 6:00–8:00 p.m., Congregation B'nai Shalom, Westborough, MA, Shiva service at 7:30 p.m.; Tuesday, July 28, 2026, Home of Arthur and Lynn Samberg, 1525 Fountainview Drive, Wake Forest, NC, Shiva minyan at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your preferred charity in Betty's name with acknowledgement to Marilyn Abrahamson.
