Beverly Ann Batho

Beverly Ann Batho, 67, of Katy, Texas, went to be with her Lord on Friday, July 24, 2026, in Houston, Texas.

Beverly was preceded in death by her father, Robert T. Batho; grandparents, James C. and Katie P. Rogers; Rev. Thomas C. and Ada M. (Woerner) Batho; Uncle, Jim Rogers, Jr.; Aunt, Anna R. (Rogers) Ziegner.

Beverly is survived by her mother, Peggy Batho; Sisters, Sheri (Belk) Null, Cynthia Batho, and Patty Patton; niece, Ashley (Nate) Tyson; nephews Matthew (Lauren) Null, Jacob (Kaylee) Null, and Caleb Null; cousins, Dan Ziegner, Jon Ziegner, Tim Ziegner, Tripp Rogers, Laura (Rob) Clark, and Patrick Rogers; extended family and friends whom she loved with all her heart.

Beverly was born on April 17, 1959, in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Bob and Peggy Batho. The family moved to Roswell, New Mexico then to Austin, Texas. In 1973 her family moved from Austin to Houston making this her home. She graduated from Stratford High School in 1977 and Stephen F. Austin State University in 1981 with a BS degree in Orientation and Mobility, supporting the blind and visually impaired.

Beverly received her Lord Jesus Christ when she was young. Reading and studying her bible became more and more precious to her; her love for Jesus grew every day. James 1:17 became one of her favorite bible verses. “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” Early on she had a loving and giving spirit. She loved keeping in touch with treasured childhood friends and meeting new ones along the way. Beverly was the one who would see a child no one else wanted to play with and make them her friend. It doesn’t take a lot to smile and be nice. Bev was a voracious reader and rarely met a book she didn’t like. She was great at trivia, and was a book of knowledge with history, remembering dates no one else could remember, and knowing most of the Jeopardy questions on her favorite TV show. She never forgot your birthday making sure to send a birthday wish to all she knew. She loved making cards and was an avid supporter of registering to vote and would always remind you …don’t forget to vote. She looked forward to the “girls” annual Christmas Ornament party, over 25 years and counting, and spending time with the “Wildflower” gals. Mostly she loved helping and teaching her English students sneaking in history along the way. Teaching her “kidos” was one of her greatest joys. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her! In 2012 Beverly made Life Church-Katy her home. Participating in weekly services, cell groups, OSL classes, and many other ministries she loved and enjoyed. The loving staff and members welcomed her like family. A Celebration of Life will be held at Life Church, 26189 Westheimer Pkwy, Katy, TX 77494, on Saturday, August 15th at 2:00 p.m.
