Billie DeYoung

Billie Jewel DeYoung, 89 passed away on August 31, 2026. Born on December 3, 1936, Billie lived a full life in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was a devoted mother, sister and friend.

Billie enjoyed the simple things in life; morning devotions with coffee, working in her flower beds and feeding the neighbors dogs and cats. She also enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with friends.

She has a family who will forever cherish her memory: her son Dennis DeYoung (Tina) and daughter Denette Johnson (Chuck); sister Mary Ann Wade (Dale); five grandchildren, Daniel DeYoung, Samuel DeYoung (Melissa), Darlene DeYoung, Rachel Pippin (Dave), and Jack Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Samantha, David, and Hudson; her niece Melinda Owen and nephew Doug Hanna.

She is preceded in death by her mother Catherine Dunn and Father Bill Schaefer and her sister Thelma Hanna.

A visitation will be held September 3, 2026 from 5pm - 7pm at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home and Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana.

A private family burial will be held on Friday morning.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the caring staff of The Blake Memory Care Center, Passages Hospice and Professional Sitter Services. Their compassion and care for Billie in her final days brought comfort to her and her family. A special thank you to her dear friend and neighbor Lucinda Bledsoe for assisting with donations to various charitable organizations on behalf of Billie and her family.
