Bonnie Dee Klepner

Bonnie Dee Klepner, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, partner, and friend, passed away on August 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, friendship, and service.

Born on December 29, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio, Bonnie was the daughter of Leonard and Ruth Kozman. She grew up in Ohio and attended Shaker Heights High School. Bonnie attended Washington University in St. Louis where she was a Sigma Delta Tau sorority. After college, Bonnie moved to Virginia, where she built a career in banking and raised her two children.

Later in life, Bonnie moved to Florida with her best friend, Lynn Kaplan, beginning a new chapter filled with friendship, community, and service. Bonnie became an active and beloved member of Temple Shalom of Central Florida. She served two terms as President of the Sisterhood and generously volunteered her time and talents to the synagogue.

One of the causes particularly close to Bonnie’s heart was the synagogue’s school supply and backpack drive. She took great pride in overseeing the effort and making sure children in the community had the supplies they needed to begin the school year. Her commitment to volunteering reflected the generosity and compassion that were such an important part of who she was.

Bonnie will be remembered for her kindness, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor. She had a gift for making people feel welcome and for bringing laughter into the lives of those around her. She also had a deep and enthusiastic love for the Washington Commanders and cheering for her team was one of her favorite pastimes.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Ruth Kozman. She is survived by her brother, James Kozman; her two children, Rob (Melissa) Klepner and Melissa (Michael) German; her grandchildren, Jackson and Sophie; her best friend, Lynn Kaplan and her ex-husband Jerry Klepner.

Above all, Bonnie will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and friends, the friendships she cherished, and the many ways she gave back to her community. Her warmth, humor, and generous spirit touched the lives of many.

Bonnie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Funeral arrangements will be held on September 3rd, 2026

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the Rabbi’s discretionary fund at Temple Shalom of Central Florida.
