Bonnie Faye Rathke, 72, of Pflugerville, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026. She was born on June 21, 1953, in Austin, Texas, to Alfred and Lucille Trcka.
Bonnie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was defined by love, kindness, and compassion. She was married to Russell Rathke for 52 years, and together they built a family centered on love and support. She was the proud mother of Jonathan Rathke and mother-in-love to Kathy Shannon-Rathke, and a loving grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her family.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Lucille Trcka, and her beloved grandson, James Rathke.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Russell Rathke; her son, Jonathan Rathke and his wife, Kathy Shannon-Rathke; her granddaughter, Kendall Marie; her sister, Pam Dubec; and numerous extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her.
Throughout her career, Bonnie worked for IBM and later with the Health Department, where she was respected for her dedication and strong work ethic. She retired early so she could become a full-time Nana to her angel grandson, James, a role she treasured above all others. Outside of work, she enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—napping, watching television, shopping, and going to the movies. More than anything, she treasured time spent with those she loved and her wiener dog, Ginger.
Bonnie will be remembered most for her caring and nurturing nature, her beautiful smile, and the unconditional love she shared with everyone she met. Her warmth and generosity touched countless lives, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A visitation followed by services will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas.
