Bonnie Long Torrans, age 84, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2026. She was born on April 19, 1942, to Luther Theodore Long Sr. and Elizabeth Johnson Long.
Bonnie attended Bishop Toolen High School and graduated from Convent of Mercy in 1960. She later attended Mississippi Southern. A devoted Catholic, Bonnie was a longtime member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, where her faith was a cherished and important part of her life.
Bonnie was married to her beloved husband, Jerry Edward Torrans Sr., for 57 years. She is survived by her husband; her daughter, Robin Mostellar (Ben); her stepdaughter, Brett Robertson (Craig); and her stepson, Jay Torrans (Lillie).
She was a loving grandmother to Gregory, Liz, Mallie, Cooper, Will, Trey, Nick, Mary Mason, and Lee. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Bev and Carol Franks, and her many nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Theodore Long Sr. and Elizabeth Johnson Long; and her siblings, L.T. (Audrey), Betty (James), and Joyce “Puggy” (Lenny).
Those who knew Bonnie will remember her beautiful smile, warm spirit, and the genuine joy she found in life’s simple pleasures. She loved tending to her garden, spending time on the golf course, and gathering with her card group. Above all, Bonnie treasured her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was the center of her world and the greatest joy of her life. She loved deeply, gave generously, and created a home and a family surrounded by warmth and love.
The family extends a special thank you to Bonnie’s caregiver and dear friend, Janice Knight, for the kindness, companionship, patience, and loving care she provided.
A private family burial will be held Friday, September 18, at Pine Crest Cemetery. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to UMS-Wright Preparatory School, St. Ignatius Catholic Church, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
