Marquette Heights ~ Brenda Sue Swearingen, 59, of Marquette Heights, passed away at 12:22 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born November 30, 1966, in Joliet to Kenneth and Patricia (Etling) Swearingen. Her father preceded her in death.
Surviving are her mother, Patricia Swearingen of Marquette Heights; one brother, Kenneth “Mike” Swearingen of Marquette Heights; two sisters, Carrie (Ron) Bryant of Creve Coeur and Julie McGill of Washington; two nephews, Ronnie Bryant III and Bradly McGill; and a very special niece and caregiver, Chrystal (John) Blaylock.
Brenda’s mother was a member of The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Pekin.
One of the things that brought Brenda so much joy throughout her life was her favorite Pillsbury Dough-Boy toy; she brought it everywhere with her.
Her graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin where she will be laid to rest by her father. Cremation has been entrusted with Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
