Caitlin Jean Hammond

Caitlin Jean Hammond of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Monday August 31, 2026. Caitlin was born in Calgary, Alberta.

Caitlin is survived by her dear friend Jon Looney, their daughter Laurel, her parents Doug Hammond (Bonnie) and Mary Shavalier, her brothers Bryce Hammond and Scott Sager, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Caitlin attended Cass High School and graduated from University of South Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications.

Caitlin loved all animals (with the exception of deer), her family and friends as well as work associates at Lifeline Animal Project. Her greatest joy was holding her beautiful daughter Laurel.

A Celebration. of Life Service will be held at Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, Ga 30120 on Saturday September 5, 2026 at 11:00am. The family will receive friends between 10:00am and 11:00am that morning.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to a charity of your choosing in Caitlin’s name.
