Carlos Humberto Maldonado

Carlos Maldonado, 74, of Vancouver, British Columbia, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026. He leaves behind a legacy of boundless love, infectious laughter, and a passion for adventure that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Born in Guatemala City, Guatemala, to Gustavo Adolfo and Petronila. He lived his life to the absolute fullest, radiating a vibrant energy that naturally drew people to him. To sit and talk with Carlos was to be truly captivated. An avid reader of history, a passionate traveller, and a gifted multilingual learner, he possessed an endless curiosity for the world. He loved exploring so many corners of Canada and felt so lucky to call it home.

Above all his adventures, Carlos’s was a proud father, a doting grandfather, and a fiercely loyal friend to many. He leaves behind his beloved Amabilia ; his son, Juan Carlos; his daughter, Leslie (Domenic) and his cherished grandson, Mattias, who brought immense pride to his life.

Carlos made the world a brighter, kinder, and far more interesting place. He will be dearly missed by all, but his laughter and beautiful spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
