Carol Ann Wessman Kemp of Evanston, Illinois, passed away on September 15, 2026 at Evanston Hospital in Evanston, Illinois. She was 85 years old.
Born July 21, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois, Carol was the daughter of Eugene and Helen Wessman. She is a 1959 alumna of Niles East High School in Niles, Illinois and a graduate of Northeastern Illinois, Chicago, Illinois and Loyola University, Chicago, Illinois. She earned Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s Degree in Social Work, and held the title of MS-LCSW.
Carol was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Kemp, and her parents, Eugene Wessman and Helen Wessman. She is survived by her children, Jeff Ransom, La Hoya, CA. Julie Geiger (Gary), Madeira Beach, FL, and Jason Ransom, (Mattie), Kansas City, MO.
She leaves 5 grandchildren, Lindsey Johansen, (Robbie), Hughes Ransom, Jacob Geiger, Kathryn Vogt, (Tyler) and Jack Ransom, and 1 great grandchildren, Otis Johansen. She is also survived by the sister, Marilyn Stevens, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
