Carol Fillion, aged 81 years and 9 months, passed away on April 6, 2026, at the CIUSSS du Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean, Centre d'hébergement de la Colline. He was the beloved husband of Marie-Andrée Blackburn and the son of the late Flore-Yvette Gravel and the late Georges-Henri Fillion.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 10 am to 4 pm at the Complexe funéraire Rive-Nord (Ste-Claire) in Chicoutimi. A celebration of the Word will be held on the same day at 4 pm at the same location, with a live broadcast available. His ashes will be deposited at the Émery-Gravel columbarium.
He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and numerous relatives and friends. Carol was the brother of Égide Fillion, the late Alain, the late Ghyslain, Marlène, Guy, Normand, Françoise, Benoit, and Bruno. He was also the brother-in-law of Denise Blackburn, Claudine, the late Jean-Marie, the late Louise, Sylvie, the late Julienne, France, Luc, Yvon, and Catherine.
Carol's funeral services will take place at the Complexe funéraire Rive-Nord (Ste-Claire) in Chicoutimi, with visitation from 10 am to 4 pm, followed by a celebration of the Word at 4 pm. The family expresses their gratitude to the staff of the unit 2B at the CHSLD de la Colline.
Contributions can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean in his memory.
