Carole Stuart Fausett, beloved mother, grandmother,great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully 0n May 19, 2026, age of 89. She was surrounded by her loving family at her home in Scottsdale, AZ.
Born on January 10, 1937, in Hackensack, NJ, Carole was the daughter of Dr. Kalman S. Von Haitinger andEthel Graddon Von Haitinger and sister of Kalman S. Von Haitinger, Jr..
She grew up in Auburn and Grosse Pointe Michigan and graduated from Grosse Pointe High School in 1954. She continued her education at Western Michigan University.
Carole married John G. Hoard on March 17, 1956, and together they raised their five children: John Emery Hoard, David Stuart Hoard, Douglas Scott Hoard, Kathleen Gail Boyd and Julia Lee Johnson in Birmingham and Pentwater, Michigan.
Carole was an active and independent woman who loved to ski the Rockies, sail the Great Lakes, hike the Smokies and play or watch tennis anywhere. She passed along that spirit to her children and in later years became a fixture at her grandchildren's academic, musical, sporting events and travel adventures.
Carole is preceded in death by her son, Douglas Hoard, and her grandson, Campbell Johnson. In addition to her children, Carole is survived by 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends who were touched by her warmth, humor and kindness.
Funeral services will be privately held by the immediate family.
