Chieko Lyons

Chieko Lyons, age 95, passed away on May 11, 2026. She was born in Naha, Okinawa, Japan on November 10, 1930 to her late parents Reiso and Makato Sakaima. Chieko is survived by her loving children: Alan (Kimberly) Lyons, Nadine Niemi; caring grandchildren: David Lyons, Stefanie (Fritz) Tull, Cara Niemi; and dear great-grandchildren: Fritz, Mckenzie, and Thea. She was an avid Tigers and Red Wings fan. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed cooking for her family. Chieko was a beautician for many years, retiring when she was 85 years old. In Chieko’s honor donations may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church or Angela Hospice. A memorial service will be held Monday, May 18, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. with a gathering beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 17017 East 12 Mile Rd., Roseville, MI 48066.
