Clifton Harold Beaty

Clifton Beaty, a long-time resident of the Hixson area, died Monday, the 14th of September in his home at the age of 93.

Clifton was born March 17, 1933 in Byrdstown, TN. He married Frances (Billings) Beaty on June 30, 1956. He worked for the Tennessee Department of Transportation for 42 years. He loved spending time working on his farm, with his faithful barn dog, Lou. He was a Tennessee Vols and Atlanta Braves fan and loved listening to bluegrass music. He also enjoyed supporting his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in all their activities. He was the last surviving founding member of Dallas Bay Baptist Church.

He is survived by his two sons, Dennis (Deb) and Phillip (Wanda). Clifton will also be remembered by his 4 grandchildren, Derek (Mary) Beaty, Deanna (Grady) Wilson, Marie (Matt) Lane, and Marshall Beaty, and his 6 great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Harrison Beaty, Parker and Pierce Wilson, and Chloe and Copper Lane.

Visitation will be held at Dallas Bay Baptist Church on Thursday from 12:30-2:30 pm followed by a memorial service at 2:30 pm with Pastors Dwight Martin and Ken Young officiating.
