In Loving Memory ofConchita M. Marks“Well done, good and faithful servant.”Matthew 25:23With profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we celebrate the life of our beloved matriarch, Conchita M. Marks, who peacefully entered eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of faith, resilience, generosity, and unconditional love.Born and raised in the Philippines, Conchita’s life was a beautiful testament to perseverance, compassion, and devotion to family. She embraced every season of life with remarkable strength and unwavering faith, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her kindness, wisdom, and generous heart touched countless lives and created a legacy that will continue for generations. After immigrating to the United States, Conchita dedicated many years to serving others as a social worker for the State of California. She found purpose in helping those in need, living out her calling with compassion and dignity. Even after retirement, caring for others never stopped—it was simply who she was.She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl F. Marks; her son, Rene Antonio; and her sisters, Adelina, Lolita, and Lucita. She leaves behind a family who was the pride and joy of her life: her loving children, Judy Atienza and Ginno Antonio; her sister, Didinia; her cherished grandchildren, Abby, Holly, Jake, Francis, Ica, Alvin, Ysabel, Sean Jean, and Jordan; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Aiden, Izzy, Brock, Chase, Paige, Jayden, Jasmin, and Scarlett, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever blessed by knowing her.To some she was Ninang. To others she was Mommy Ching. She was Lola, Mirma, confidante, encourager, prayer warrior, and friend. No matter what you called her, you always knew one thing—you were loved.Conchita believed that love was best expressed through action. She showed it in every meal she lovingly prepared, every flower she nurtured in her garden, every early morning she spent caring for her home, and every quiet act of generosity that asked for nothing in return. She was happiest when she was taking care of someone else. She was an early riser who greeted each morning long before the sun. To know Conchita was to know someone who never sat still for long. She found joy in staying busy, caring for her family, tending to her garden, cooking favorite family recipes, and making sure everyone around her felt welcomed and cared for.A devoted member of Notre Dame Catholic Church, her faith was the foundation of her life. It shaped the way she loved, forgave, served, and persevered through life’s challenges. She lived her faith quietly but powerfully, leaving an example that will continue to inspire her family for years to come.Nothing brought Conchita greater happiness than her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved watching them sing, dance, and perform, and with a smile that could light up any room, she’d often reach into her purse and offer five dollars for every performance. It wasn’t about the money—it was her special way of celebrating them, encouraging them, and making each child feel like the star of the show. It became one of the countless traditions that will forever bring smiles to those who loved her.Conchita lived a vibrant, colorful life. She taught her family that true wealth isn’t measured by what we own but by the love we freely give. She showed us that strength can be gentle, generosity can change lives, and that a life devoted to faith and family is a life well lived. While our hearts ache with her absence, we rejoice in knowing that she has been welcomed into the loving arms of her Savior and reunited with those who have gone before her. We will carry her love forward—in every family gathering, every shared meal, every blooming flower, every act of kindness, and every song sung by the children she adored. The hands that nurtured generations are now at rest, but the love they gave will continue to bloom in every life they touched.Forever Our MatriarchTo some she was Ninang. To others she was Mommy Ching. She was Lola. She was Mirma. To all of us… she was home.Forever loved.Forever remembered.Forever in our hearts.
