Connie Vestal

Connie Vestal, 78, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026. She was born on July 8, 1947, in Hobbs, New Mexico.

Connie lived a life rooted in love, family, and caring for others. As the daughter of Hubert and Rheta Nelms, she spent her early years moving between Hobbs, New Mexico; Seminole, Texas; and Odessa, Texas. It was in Odessa that she met and married the love of her life, Dennis Vestal, beginning a lifelong partnership of 57 years, filled with devotion and shared memories.

Connie dedicated her life to her family, raising two children Scott Vestal and Dedra Vickers.

In the late 1960s, Connie pursued her passion by attending cosmetology school, going on to build a career as a hairdresser. She spent many years helping others look and feel their best, forming lasting relationships with those who sat in her chair.

Connie was known above all as a devoted caregiver. She had a generous heart and a natural ability to nurture those around her. She deeply loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the center of her world.

Preceding Connie in death are her parents Hubert and Rheta Nelms, daughter Dedra Vickers, and sister Kay Nutter.

Survived by: Dennis Vestal husband, son Scott and wife Krystyna Vestal, son n law Jason Vickers, brother Steve and wife Tina Nelms, Mike and Joy Vestal, Fred and Cheryl Vestal, grandchildren Tyler Vestal, Tanner Vestal, Holley Vickers, Paige and Chance Hopson, Samantha and Koy Richardson, Kyle and Katy Vickers, Makayla Reynolds, Great grandchildren Easton, Hudson, Colson, Cambry, Rene, Mayci, niece’s and nephew’s Tony, Jenifer, Rod, Gabbie, Denver, Stevie, Freddy, Amanda, Sean and Stephen, and a host of Family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 on May 11,2026 at Lake Ridge Chapel, 6025 82nd St. Lubbock, TX, 79424, followed by a graveside service at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park, 15602 TX-493 Loop, Lubbock, TX, 79423.
