Cyril Paul Gamber

Cyril Gamber, age 89, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on June 1, 1937, in Somerville, Massachusetts, to Cyril and Mary Gamber, Cyril was raised in Philadelphia, where he attended St. Joseph9s Preparatory School before graduating from St. Joseph9s University.

Inspired by President John F. Kennedy9s call to public service, Cyril dedicated his career to serving others as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Following his retirement from the FBI, he continued his commitment to public service with the Florida Attorney General9s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit before later serving as a drug-testing representative for the National Football League.

Those who knew Cyril will remember his strength of character, steadfast faith, unwavering integrity, and the warm sense of humor that brought smiles to those around him. He dedicated his life to serving both his country and his family with humility, honor, and love.

A devoted husband to Marilyn, Cyril was a loving father to Paul, Stephanie (Phillip), and Gavin (Kelly), a proud grandfather to Brett (Kelly), Brendan, Kelsey, Thomas, and Gavin, and a joyful great-grandfather to Luke. Beyond his family, he enjoyed researching his family9s genealogy, traveling, celebrating his Irish heritage, and cheering on his beloved Phillies, Eagles, and Buccaneers.

Cyril is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn; his sister, Mary; his children, grandchildren, great-grandson, and many cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyril and Mary Gamber, and his brother-in-law, Jon.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 17512 Lakeshore Road, Lutz, Florida 33558. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m., one hour prior to Mass.

Following the Mass, family and friends are invited to join the family for a reception before Cyril is honored with Military Honors and laid to rest at 3:00 p.m. at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33610.
