Daniel Lee "Rip" Kimme, 77, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, Illinois. He was a resident of Freeburg, Illinois.
Rip was born on November 16, 1948, in East St. Louis, Illinois to the late Hughie D. Kimme and Virginia Kimme (nee Hager).
For 58 years, Rip worked as a carpenter for Local 662.
Rip was an avid reader and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Rip is survived by his sons, Gabriel Kimme of Belleville, Illinois, and Joel Kimme of Santa Clarita, California; his life partner and friend of forty years, Dawn Davis; as well as extended family and many friends.
Memorial contributions may be made in Rip's honor to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or your favorite charity.
Services will be private.
