Daniel Ray Turner, 79, of Van Buren, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2026 in Fort Smith. He was born January 1, 1947 in Tulsa to the late Elsie and Virginia (Stephens) Collins. He served his country in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Ray Turner, Jr.; and a grandson, Braiden Turner.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joe Anna Turner of the home; a daughter, Dehlilah Stallings and husband Jason of Rudy; five sons, Brandon Champion and wife Rebecca of Mountainburg, Billy Turner and wife Megan of Van Buren, Jonathon Turner and wife Carrie of Conway, Larry Parker and wife Jancie of Poteau, and Robert Turner of Fort Smith; twenty-one grandchildren, Malia, Clarissa, Josiah, and Makalia Stallings, Chandler and Cadence Champion, Shayne, Olivia, and Braxton Turner, Summer and Heavenly Turner, Lane, Tyler, Erick, Brianna, Jaylynn, Kiareth, Baylee, Nehemiah, Faith, and Ira Parker; and three great-grandchildren, Shayla, Winter, and Jaxon Parker.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
