David Allen Brousseau

31 août 2026 Ulverton, Quebec Dignity Memorial

Our beloved son, brother, father, husband, and grandfather returned home to his Father in heaven on Monday August 31st surrounded by his family after a 4 year battle against ALS.

Born in Oakland California to parents Raymond and Marlene, Dave grew up with a love for sports and competition. Coached by his father in his youth, he quickly fell in love with all Boston-based sports teams and through that love he was eventually awarded a scholarship to the University of Utah where he played college baseball as a pitcher. This opportunity came with lifelong friends and a new found love for Utah which became his home for the remainder of his life.

He made a career in accounting with Nelson Laboratories where he continued to make forever friends. In his free time, he played in an adult recreational hockey team. David was always described as a happy guy but when he finally met and started dating his future wife Karen, his best friend described him as turning into “Dave 2.0”. The two met later in life but their love story was immediate and knowing he had finally found his person they were married on May 2nd, 2015.

With the marriage came four bonus children whom he always treated as if they were his own. Later on he became the grandfather to three grandsons and two granddaughters who all adored him and were lovingly spoiled, especially on holidays. With this new family there were many birthdays, vacations, and holidays spent together with plans for many more.

Dave and Karen had a perfect partner in each other in sickness and health. When Karen was diagnosed with breast cancer Dave was by her side though it all. Sadly, the celebration of her survival was too soon followed by Dave’s own diagnosis. Dave, ever the athlete, fought to beat ALS with everything he had and met each challenge head on. On the worst days of his disease you would find him, still, with a smile on his face, excited to see you, and always happy to discuss last night's game.

Dave was able to leave this earthly realm on his own terms and with dignity. He was surrounded by his loved ones with angels waiting to guide him to his final journey. His final remarks were reminding us all that he loved us and to choose kindness and look for ways to help others.

He is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Marlene Brousseau.

He is survived by his wife Karen, Step Children Cameron (Kylee) Wood, Sharydon (Jordan) Meek, Blake Wood, and Chad (Rylie) Wood. His grandchildren Leo, Wendy, Benjamin, Levi, and Josie, his brothers Brian (Amber), Steve (Michele), and sister Sherri.
