David E. Bryant

Beloved father, son, brother, mentor, author, healthcare leader, musician, and friend.

David E. Bryant, 63, passed away on July 3, 2026, in Houston, Texas. Born on December 10, 1962, to Robert and Shirley Bryant. David spent his early childhood in Hobbs, New Mexico, before moving to Springtown, Texas, where he attended school through the eighth grade. He later moved to Alice, Texas, where he graduated from high school. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Abilene Christian University and a Master of Healthcare Administration from Southwest Texas State University.

David devoted more than three decades to healthcare leadership. He was President and Chief Executive Officer of NewWorld Partners, Inc. Founded in 2004, the company was consistently on the forefront of the highly demanding healthcare market. Throughout his career, David held executive level positions. He served as Director of Mergers and Acquisitions for Universal Health Services, Inc. He also served as Vice President and Executive Director for Blue Cross/ Blue Shield in Houston, Texas and was the Chief Operating Officer of Paradise Valley Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, which was named one of HCA’s “Top 100 Hospitals” during his tenure. David possessed a true entrepreneurial spirit and was passionate about building exceptional leadership teams, mentoring others, and leading with integrity, vision, and compassion. Those who worked alongside him remember not only his professional excellence but also his unwavering encouragement and genuine belief in the potential of others. One of David's proudest accomplishments was becoming a published author in August 2024. Drawing on decades of leadership experience, he wrote Different Designs: What I Wish I Knew 30 Years Ago, a work that reflected both his wisdom and his desire to help others grow. He was immensely proud of the book and the opportunity to share the lessons he had learned throughout his career.

Above all else, David's greatest joy was being the father of his daughters, Taylor and Bailey. He loved them unconditionally and was immensely proud of the women they became. His greatest hope was that they knew how deeply they were loved.

David embraced life with enthusiasm and a generous heart. He loved surfing, playing tennis, watching sports, and spending time with a guitar in his hands. Music was a lifelong passion, and his quick wit, playful sense of humor, and love of practical jokes brought laughter to family, friends, and colleagues alike. David had the unique gift of forming lifelong friendships wherever he was.

David is survived by his daughters, Taylor Bryant and Bailey Bryant; his beloved sister, Karen Bryant (Monica); and many cherished family members, lifelong friends, colleagues, and all whose lives were made richer by knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Shirley Bryant.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on August 8, 2026 at 2:00 pm with reception to follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 6300 W. William Cannon Dr, Austin, Tx 78749. Family and friends will gather to share stories, laugh often, and honor a man who lived with purpose, generosity, curiosity, and compassion. In lieu of flowers, honor donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
