David Payne Peters

David Payne Peters passed away on September 6, 2026. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, G-pa, and friend.

Born on November 8, 1947, in Terrell, Texas, David was the son of Charles and Hazel Peters. He lived a life marked by faith, service, and love for others. His relationship with the Lord shaped the man he became and guided him throughout his life. For 48 years, David was an active and faithful member of Seagoville Road Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and found joy in serving both the Lord and the people around him.

David was, quite simply, one of the best men you could ever know. He had a wonderful sense of humor and could make people laugh, often bringing lightness and joy wherever he went. He loved his family and considered the time spent with them among life's greatest gifts. He was the kind of man who could do just about anything. A true jack of all trades, David had a gift for figuring things out. Whether it needed to be built, solved, or made to work again, he always seemed to know what to do. A talent his family and friends appreciated more times than they could count.

David spent 37 years working in the IT department at Blue Cross Blue Shield. He genuinely loved his work and took great pride in what he did. Even after decades of service, his work remained something he enjoyed and valued until his retirement.

More than anything, David will be remembered for the way he loved. His greatest legacy will not be found in the things he built or repaired, the years he spent working, or even the many ways he served his church. It will be found in the lives he touched and in the love he gave so freely. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories with his beloved wife, Renia Peters; his daughter, Bekah Brantley, and her husband, Heath Brantley; and his grandchildren, Brooklyn Villalpando, Peyton Brantley, Colton Brantley, and Logan Brantley. To his family, he was so much more than a husband, dad, and G-pa. He was their protector, fixer, comedian, encourager, and one of the safest places to call home.

Though he will be deeply missed, the legacy of his faith, his kindness, his humor, and his love for his family will remain for generations to come.
