Dixie Lee Hull

Dixie Hull, 87, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026.

Dixie was born in Bradford, Ohio on September 22, 1938 to the late Joseph and Maxine Gibony McBride. Dixie attended Bradford High School, Miami University in Ohio, and Capital University. Dixie moved to Newark in 1960 where she lived until moving in with her daughter, Cindy Brown and her husband Walter of Southport, NC in 2020. Dixie retired from Moundbuilders Guidance Center where she worked for 28 years as the business manager. Dixie was a former member of the 2nd Presbyterian Church and LMH Twigs. She was also a member and former president of both the Newark Jaycees and the Newark Ski Club. She enjoyed golfing, boating, snow skiing, traveling, and was an avid reader.

Dixie is survived by three children, James Hull Jr. and wife Mistie, Catherine Brown and husband Jeff, Cynthia Brown and husband Walter; her brother, John McBride and wife Karen; a sister Nikki Clark and husband Roger; six grandchildren, Marc Hull, Teri Hull - Tuggle, Morgan Waidelich, Alli Cugavic, Maddy Brown, and Lauren Brown; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Dixie was preceded in death by her brother, Gary McBride.

There will be a private memorial for the immediate family.
