Dixie Marlaine McCurry

It is with heavy hearts, yet with our Faith in God’s Promise we announce the passing of Dixie Marlaine McCurry of LaGrange, GA.

Dixie was preceded in death by her loving husband Johnny McCurry, her mother Edna George and her brother John Landingham, both from South Carolina.

Dixie is survived by her son Lee Moore and daughter-in-law Susan Moore; grandsons, Garrett and Brett Moore; brother, Travis George and his wife, Olena George.

Dixie worked for Knology Telephone Co and was an avid flower and plant enthusiast which showed in her backyard garden. She was a huge fan of her favorite team, The Auburn Tigers. “War Eagle”

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Saturday, September 12th, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange, GA.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made in honor of Dixie to Middletown Baptist Church located at 419 Armstrong Corner Rd. Middletown, DE 19709;

Or you may contribute online at http://mbcdelaware.churchcenter.com (under memory of Dixie). Every time Dixie went to visit her family up north, she would always go with them to Middletown Baptist. She loved the services and the people. Dixie wished she could go to this church more often, so she would frequently view the services online. Fortunately, before her passing, Dixie was able to attend one more time.
