Donald James Weathers

Donald James Weathers, 63, passed away on September 2, 2026. Born on July 7, 1963, Donald lived in Fultondale, Alabama.

Donald was a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as an usher and shared his love of music as a member of the Male Chorus. His faith was an important part of his life, as was his devotion to family and friends. He loved his mother profoundly and was always ready to do anything for her.

Donald’s hard-working spirit was matched by a genuine warmth that made him a caring friend. He never met a stranger and had a natural way of making those around him feel welcomed and at ease. He brought determination and integrity to his work and was known for his strong salesmanship and the kind of follow-through that earned the trust and respect of others.

Donald also knew how to savor life’s simple joys. He loved nature and enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially at the beach, where he could appreciate the beauty and peacefulness of his surroundings. He enjoyed fishing and grilling and found happiness in the energy of tennis and basketball, as well as the thrill of water skiing. He was also a devoted Alabama football fan—Roll Tide!—and took pride in the traditions and excitement of the game.

Those who knew Donald will remember a man whose steady devotion was evident in the way he lived, the way he loved, and the way he cared for others. Faith guided his days, and he was a devoted child of God whose life reflected quiet, dependable strength. His presence will be deeply missed, but the love, faith, and kindness he shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Weathers and Lee Helms Weathers; and his sister, Sherri Weathers.

He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Shantia Weathers; sons, Don Evan Weathers and James Austin Weathers; and grandchildren, Rowan James Weathers, River Joy Weathers, Riley Emma Weathers, and Kiki Jean Weathers.
