Donald Lee Hurley

Donald L. Hurley of Hamilton, OH, age 89, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Richmond, Indiana on October 6, 1936, to William Hansford Hurley and Leotha Sanders. Don lived a life defined by dedication, curiosity, service, and love. He enjoyed a distinguished 40-year career as a mechanical engineer, retiring from Western States Machine Company in 1999. Throughout his career, his innovative mind and problem-solving abilities led to six patents, a testament to his intelligence, creativity, and commitment to excellence.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Don found joy in many pursuits. He was an adventurous traveler, avid bowler, a passionate stamp collector, and a devoted volunteer who generously gave his time and talents to help others. He believed in staying engaged with his community and enriching the lives of those around him through acts of service and kindness.

Above all, Don cherished his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose steady presence, wisdom, and sense of humor will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Don is survived by his beloved wife, Linda W. Hurley of Hamilton; his children, Ken Hurley (Cheri) of Hamilton, Scott Hurley (Kim) of Lexington, KY, Barb Hurley (Charlene) of Marana, AZ, Tim Baker (Samuelyn) of Hamilton, and Elizabeth Rowe (Travis) of Hamilton; his grandchildren,Caleb Hurley, Natalie Hurley, Anthony Walker, Brandon Walker, Tyler Walker, Sarah Walker, and Timothy Baker and many great grandchildren, all of whom bought him immense pride and happiness.

Don’s legacy lives on through the family he loved, the lives he touched, and the many contributions he made throughout his lifetime. His memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at Rose Hill Funeral Home on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to charity of the donor's choice in Donald's name.
