Dr. Megan Lindsay Nocerino (née Parker)

2 avril 2026 Dignity Memorial

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Dr. Megan Lindsay Nocerino, beloved mother, daughter, and sister, who left us on April 2, 2026, at the age of 47.

Born in East Chicago, IN, on October 15, 1978, Megan is preceded in death by her father, Anthony “Tony” Parker.

Megan graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1997, where she proudly helped lead her team to a state runner-up finish in girls basketball. Her drive and passion for learning led her to earn an undergraduate degree in elementary education from Barry University in 2001, a master’s degree in elementary education from Nova University, and ultimately a Ph.D. in elementary education from Nova in 2013.

Megan’s life was defined by her love of teaching and her dedication to her students. She began her career teaching in the Chicago Public Schools before making her home in Plantation, FL, where she taught at Westpine Middle School and later Nova High School, where she taught Reading and English. “Dr. No” (as she was affectionately called by her colleagues and students) was a deeply respected member of the faculty and known for her boundless energy, empathy, and passion for education.

A proud member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity and a founding member of the “Black Sheep Club,” Megan brought joy, humor, and warmth to every gathering. Megan was also a proud member of the Catholic faith.

Megan is survived by her two beloved children, Giovanni Antonio Nocerino (16) and Nichola Parker Nocerino (10); her devoted mother, Shirley Parker; her loving sister, Erinn Brown; and her cherished nephew, Anthony Brown. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss her dearly. Megan loved both of her sons fiercely, and will be remembered for her strength, compassion, and infectious laugh.

Megan’s legacy lives on in the countless students she inspired, the family and friends she loved, and the laughter she shared freely with everyone around her. Her brilliant mind, generous spirit, and unwavering kindness will be remembered always.

A celebration of Megan’s life will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307 on May 30, 2026. Family and friends are invited to gather from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with a memorial service to follow. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Megan’s memory may make a donation to the Dr. Megan Parker Nocerino Memorial Scholarship at: https://alphagammadeltafoundation.org/donate/.
