Edward "Ed" M. Simpson

A memorial service for Edward “Ed” M. Simpson, 70, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. There will be food and fellowship following the service at the Jamil Shrine Center, 206 Jamil Road, Columbia, SC 29210. Ed passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026. Born in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late LeRoy Simpson and Betty Duffy Simpson. He was a graduate of Dreher High School, Class of 1973. Ed began his career at Computer Records in Columbia before working for 25 years with Palmetto Bank in Greenville, SC. He later worked for Jamil Shrine Center as the building manager until December 2023. A member of Jamil Shrine Temple and a Mason with Pacific Lodge, Ed was passionate about supporting the Shriners Children’s Hospital. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, Carolina football games, and boating on Lake Murray.
