Edward "Skip" Michael Newbery Sr. of Kettering, Ohio passed away at Hospice of Dayton on July 21, 2026, at the age of 82. He was born on July 21, 1944 to parents James and Catherine (Scanlon) Newbery.
Skip is survived by his wife, Carol Newbery; children, Mike (Jennifer) Newbery, Wendy Newbery, and stepson, Mike Bader; grandchildren, Julianna Newbery and Connor Newbery.
Skip was educated at the University of Dayton earning a Bachelor of Education degree. He taught at Corpus Christi before transitioning to Tobias Funeral Home as a funeral director and embalmer. He served the Dayton community for over forty years in this capacity.
Skip was a animal lover and he will be missed by Lyla, Piper, Bronson and Bullitt.
Services are private by family.
