Eleanor R. Pike Gavrock, 90, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at her home in Barton, MS. She was born on August 11, 1936, to the late William Ferguson and Anna Louisa Stone Pike. Eleanor graduated from Tech High School with the Class of 1954 and later retired from the Internal Revenue Service. Her love of gardening was evident to everyone who visited her home, but Eleanor’s first love was her family. She was a dedicated member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Frank G. Gavrock, Sr.; her son, Frank G. Gavrock, Jr; her parents, William Ferguson and Anna Louisa Stone Pike, and her siblings: Ferguson Pike, Claude Pike, Don Pike, Arthur “Bubba” Pike, Anna Belle Stotts, Edna Cates, Donna Hartley, Dorthy Shipman, and Carolyn Dunn.
She is survived by four children: Teresa Gavrock Hines (Haywood), Gail Gavrock (Debbie), Russell Gavrock, and Bobby Gavrock (Jessica). Eleanor was known as Nanny to her 8 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was also Aunt Eleanor to her many nieces, and nephews.
