Elizabeth Thorp Montgomery passed peacefully on May 20, 2026 at Commonwealth Senior Living in Christiansburg, VA. She was born in Greensboro and spent most of her early childhood in Syracuse, NY. She was a dedicated mother and a beloved staff member at the Greensboro Historical Museum, where she managed the gift shop and was active in the Museum Store Association. Betty loved pottery, entertaining, and volunteering, especially for HorsePower Therapeutic Learning Center. She enjoyed working in her yard, working with animals, and going on adventures with Peter. Her memorial service will be held on June 26, 2026, at Hanes Funeral Service in Greensboro, NC.
