Elliott Lamar Rogers Sr.

Elliott Lamar Rogers Sr. passed away on September 16, 2026, at the age of 85. He was a resident of Louisville, TN. As Elliott loved to say, " this cracker was born in Columbus, GA" November 14, 1940 to the late W. Oscar and Lois Katherine Rogers.

He grew up alongside many brothers and two sisters; Troy Rogers, Ray Rogers, Don Rogers, Linda Faye Rogers, Flossie Whaley, J.B. Whaley, Brice Whaley, Bill Whaley, and Jack Whaley. It was quite a bevy of fun folk.

A scripture tells us that life is but a vapor here, yet joy cometh in the morning.

Children are a heritage of the Lord. He was Blessed by his family, children; Elliott L Rogers, Jr., Darla R (Ricky) Vann and Karen Sue Rogers; granddaughters, Brandi Sue (Bryan) Smartt, Rachel Penelope (Daniel) Zambrano; grandson, Anthony Tharp. His added Blessings were his great grandchildren, Phoebe Rae Hickman, Braedyn Smartt, Grayson Smartt, Raylynn Smartt, and Kaylee Tharp.

He was very patriotic due to having served in the Army and National Guard. He may have even fibbed to enlist, hence his two dates of birth. Fox News and Newsmax were some of his favorite friends.

He was teased about being clumsy yet very jovial. Faith was all important to him and he was a member of Friendly Chapel Baptist Church. When he was able he loved to accompany others on his guitar, it saddened him when was no longer able to play. He also enjoyed singing when he could. He was a sports fan and he loved him some Tennessee whatever, especially Baseball. He loved barbing his son-in-law with the Big Orange.

Visitation will be held at Berry Highland South, Magnolia Chapel, 9010 E. Simpson Rd, Knoxville, TN 37920, on September 19, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm with a Funeral Service immediately following at 2:00 pm. The family has requested a private interment.
