Emma Arbour Eperjesy

2 juin 2026 Bonaventure, Quebec Voluntas

With profound love and respect, her family announces the passing of Emma Arbour Eperjesy on June 2nd, 2026 at the age of 100 years old. Predeceased by her beloved husband Dennis Eperjesy, Emma is survived by her 5 children: Dennis, Michael, Susan (Lanni), Kevin, Nancy; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren, nephews and nieces and close friends.

Born in Bonaventure, Quebec, Canada to Félicité Arbour (née Pacquet) and Jean (John) Arbour, she was born 13th and the last surviving child of 14 children. She married Dennis (Dezso) Eperjesy on September 22, 1951 and shared 67 years together. She moved to Montreal as a young lady, worked at the McGill University satellite campus Dawson College at the Royal Canadian Air Force base in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu where she met the love of her life. She raised her family in Montreal and then Beaconsfield, Quebec where she lived for 67 years from 1959 to 2026.

Emma grew up on a farm and was very proud of her French-Canadian lineage in Quebec of several hundred years and traced back to Normandy, France as well as some Irish, British and European ancestry. She remained close to her brothers and sisters throughout her life. An adventurous and loving woman, she witnessed much in her long life and loved travelling the world with her husband, visiting every continent except Antarctica. Blessed with exceptional health, she loved exploring well into old age, hiking up Mont Megantic at 88, visiting the Faroe Islands at 91 and even travelling halfway around the world to Shanghai, China at the venerable age of 92.

Her children will hold a private gathering of remembrance. Donations to the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence would be appreciated.
