Esmeralda was a devoted mother of two who dedicated her life to caring for her family with endless love, sacrifice, and compassion. She carried herself with quiet strength, grace, and kindness, always placing others before herself and making everyone around her feel welcomed and loved.
Throughout her life, Esmeralda was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. She worked many years with Kmart and Walmart before faithfully serving for over 30 years with MVEC, where she built lasting friendships and earned the respect and admiration of her coworkers and community. Her commitment, reliability, and caring spirit reflected the kind of woman she was both professionally and personally.
Above all else, Esmeralda treasured her family. One of her greatest joys in life was the deep and special bond she shared with her beloved granddaughter, Salma Annalee Cardona. The love she had for Salma was unconditional and overflowing with pride, tenderness, and joy. Her eyes would light up whenever they were together, and the memories they shared will forever remain treasured in the hearts of those who witnessed their beautiful bond.
Esmeralda also found peace and happiness in life’s simple beauties. She loved plants, flowers, and being beneath the warmth of the sun. Spring was her favorite season — a time of blooming flowers, fresh air, sunlight, and new beginnings. It reflected her spirit perfectly: gentle, nurturing, full of warmth, and filled with life. Like spring itself, Esmeralda brought comfort, beauty, and light wherever she went.
She also had a playful and loving spirit that showed in the little things. Esmeralda proudly loved her Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs, cheering for her teams faithfully and passionately through every season. But because her son-in-law was a devoted Seattle Seahawks fan, she would always find herself lovingly torn between the two teams. It became one of those special family jokes and memories that brought laughter, warmth, and togetherness to those around her.
Most importantly, Esmeralda was a fighter. She courageously battled cancer once before and overcame it with incredible strength, faith, and determination. When cancer returned, she faced it with the same courage and grace that defined her life. Though the battle was difficult, her spirit never broke. In the end, her reward was far greater than anything this world could offer — to be reborn in eternal peace with the Lord she loved so dearly.
Esmeralda had no hateful bone in her body. She was faithful, compassionate, and truly a light to everyone around her. Her kindness was effortless, her heart was pure, and her presence could brighten any room she walked into. She made people feel seen, welcomed, and loved simply by being herself. To know her was to experience warmth, comfort, laughter, and genuine love.
Even through pain and hardship, she continued to love deeply, smile warmly, and think first of her family. That courage, faith, and beautiful spirit will remain part of her legacy forever.
Esmeralda will be remembered for her gentle heart, beautiful soul, comforting presence, and the countless lives she touched through her kindness and love. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing she is now resting peacefully in the arms of the Lord.
Her legacy of love, faith, strength, and devotion will continue to shine through her children, granddaughter, family, and all who were blessed to know her.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7
