Esther Maria Betancourt

Esther Betancourt, 93, passed away in Palm Beach County, Florida.She is survived by her son, Orlando, and her grandsons, the joys of her life, Andrew and Bruce. She is also survived by her siblings Bertha, Denise, Gladys, Miriam, Mirtha, and Pepe.After leaving Cuba in the early 1960s, Esther built a new life for herself in America. She taught herself English, learned a new trade as a hairdresser, and single-handedly put her son through college. She made homes first in New Jersey and then in Palm Beach County Florida, where she’s lived for the last 47 years.Esther’s passions included cooking - especially her famous lobster enchilada - for her family, spoiling her grandchildren and dancing to salsa music.She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends, and all who knew her.The funeral service will take place in Miami, Florida, on Sunday, September 6 at 3:00pm at Caballero Rivero Westchester, 8200 Bird Road, Miami, FL 33155.
