Eugene C. Sander

Eugene C. Sander of Hutto and Taylor, Texas, passed away on April 25, 2026. Eugene was born in Paige, Texas, on July 21, 1934, to Willie O. and Clara Saegert Sander.

He was baptized into the Lutheran faith at a young age and continued to practice his Lutheran faith until his later years.

Eugene graduated from Taylor High School in 1952, and throughout his life, he held a variety of jobs, including working for Texas Power and Light Engineering and the City of Austin Power Company, and driving for Frito-Lay as a chip deliveryman. He also worked in the mail room at the Texas State and Comptroller Offices.

Eugene was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Lou; his daughter, Lisa Ellis; his son, Donald Sander; and his siblings, Doris Randig and JoNell Haltom.

He is survived by his 2 grandchildren, Trace Ellis and Skylar Ellis-Dykes, her wife, KayLynn; his brother, Harold Sander, and his wife, Jerlene; his sister, Kay Hardcastle, and her husband, Steve; his niece Sheri Dyall; and numerus other nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Hardcastle, Malcolm Randig, Mike Diviesti, Trace Ellis, Anthony Asbill, and Wade Asbill. Eddie Jones will be serving as an honorary pallbearer.

Funeral services will begin at 2:30pm at Cook-Walden Capital Parks, 14501 N IH 35, Pflugerville. Burial will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks, Pflugerville.
