Francis Joseph Sciolla Jr.

Frank grew up in Elkins Park, PA, the oldest in a big family that included five younger brothers and a sister. His family owned Sciolla’s Supper Club, a well-known dining and entertainment venue in Philadelphia that featured some of the biggest acts from the 1940s to the 1970s. Starting at age 10, Frank worked alongside his siblings at the club while the likes of Tony Bennett, Fats Domino, and Bobby Darin performed, and he honed his skill for telling jokes watching Joey Bishop and Buddy Hackett as he bused tables.

Frank graduated from LaSalle High School in 1963 and later began a career that led him to key sales and marketing roles with Maybelline, Schick, and Burgoyne Greeting Cards. In the late 1980s, Frank started FOS, a specialty foods company that marketed gourmet products from around the world. He became a leading voice in the industry, helping countless companies establish their presence and define their brands.

Frank’s larger-than-life personality made him the life of the party with his penchant for jokes, one-liners, and pranks. His laugh was both delightful and disarming.

He was diagnosed with stage II prostate cancer in 2015, treated successfully at UPenn, and remained cancer-free until his death. He supported his wife through treatment for leukemia. Outside of work, Frank enjoyed history, building model airplanes, shooting at ranges, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Frank is survived by his son, daughter, grandchildren, brothers Guy, Gregory, Gabe, Joe, Michael, sister Anne, and many nieces and nephews.
