Georgetta Marie "Jetta" VanVleet was born on November 28, 1943 in Clinton, Iowa, and passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026 at her home in Olathe, Kansas.
She was born to George Louis Reedy and Fern Marie (Poorman) Reedy.
Georgetta was raised in Clinton, Iowa and moved to Olathe, Kansas in 1985 where she remained a resident for the rest of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Fern Reedy, her six brothers, her husband Robert VanVleet, her son John VanVleet, her daughter Tina Dickerson, her son-in-law John Ellerbrook Jr., her sister Melba Burrus, and her grandchildren Brandon Witt, Boblou Ellerbrook, Shayna "Bayna" VanVleet, Kane Taddese and Allen Sibley.
She is survived by her sister, Kelly (Rick) Miller, her brothers Rick Reedy and Chuck (Barb) Reedy, and her children Bobbie Jo Ellerbrook, Irene (Michael Sr.) Varner, Shawn (Lisa) VanVleet, Melba (Mark) Henderson and Becky Baguss.
She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at the McGilley and Frye Funeral Home 105 East Loula Street Olathe, Kansas. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery 13901 South Black Bob Road Olathe, Kansas. Visitation will be Tuesday evening May 12, 2026 starting at 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
