With great sadness we announce the passing of Geraldine Elizabeth Maggio. She died peacefully on May 16, 2026, while in the compassionate care of Hospice of the Chesapeake. Gerry was blessed to be surrounded by many loved ones in the days before joining her husband in Heaven. With the encouragement of her beloved choir director, Gerry is now among the angels, teaching them how to sing.
Gerry was born in Long Beach, California but spent the majority of her life in Annapolis, Maryland. Some of her fondest childhood memories were formed while her Navy family was stationed in Puerto Rico, and she often spoke fondly of her life on Randall Court.
Gerry was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Harry, and by her parents, Carl Sr. and Helen Steiner. She is survived by her siblings, Patricia (Steiner) Hunt and her twin brother, Carl Steiner Jr.; her children, Mark Maggio, Valerie (Maggio) Colvin (Tony), and Ross Maggio; her grandchildren, Kaileigh (Maggio) Lewis (Cody), Ian Maggio, Nicole Keller, Andrea (Houston) Simms, and Natasha Maggio; and her great-grandchildren, Raelyn, Renlee, and Dominic. She also leaves Laura Maggio, who was always present in her life, along with countless loving relatives and friends. Gerry was many things to many people: a beloved wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother, loving sister and aunt, and a source of comfort to anyone fortunate enough to know her.
