It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Glen Murphy. He passed away peacefully on 6 July 2026 in Pointe‑Claire, Quebec, at the age of 80.
Glen, originally from Riviere-du-Portage N.B., was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose presence brought warmth to every room. He enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a chartered accountant, and his love for hockey stayed with him throughout his life. A natural entertainer, Glen had a gift for easy conversation, quick humour, and making people feel at home. With a guitar in his hands, he could turn any gathering into a sing‑along.
He cared deeply for others and carried himself with a gentleness and kindness that left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
He is reunited with his parents, Walter and Justine Murphy; his son, Michel; and his siblings Ovilda, Geraldine, Omer, Freeman, Emma, Doreen and Walter Junior.
Glen is lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Theresa; his children Patrick (Veronique) and Ann (Ashley); his cherished grandchildren Maverick, Jesse, and Evelyn; and his siblings Donald (late Albertine), Eileen Langlois (Lloyd), and Jim (Carol). He will be deeply missed by his in‑laws, his many nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held at Voluntas Commemoration (4695 Boulevard Saint-Jean, Dollard-des-Ormeaux Quebec) on Saturday, July 18th, 2026 from 1-3:30 pm followed by a ceremony 3:30pm and gathering 4:00-5:00pm.
