It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Hagop Michel Bamboukian, who passed away on September 12, 2026, in Montreal, Quebec, at the age of 82.
Affectionately known as “Najjar” Hagop, he was born on April 13, 1944, in Beirut, Lebanon. A devoted father and proud grandfather, Hagop’s greatest joy was his family.
He leaves behind his loving children, Mouchegh (Hourig), Sonia (Giovanni), and Viken (Theresa), as well as his cherished grandchildren, Sarita, Aren, Luca, Kiara, and Mila, each of whom held a very special place in his heart.
Hagop will be fondly remembered for his kind and generous heart, his strength and resilience, his good-natured spirit, and, above all, his wonderful sense of humour. He had a remarkable way of making those around him smile and bringing laughter to even the simplest moments. He faced life with determination and strength, while never losing the warmth and humour that made him so uniquely himself.
His stories, his laughter, and his unmistakable personality will live on in the hearts of his family and all those fortunate enough to have known him. Though he will be deeply missed, the many memories shared with him will remain a source of comfort and will be treasured for generations to come.
Family and friends are invited to come together to honour Hagop’s life, share their memories, and bid him a final farewell.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Hagop’s memory to The Kidney Foundation of Canada http://kidney.ca. May his memory be eternal, and may he rest in peace.
