Heather Michelle Cantonwine

Heather Michelle Cantonwine, 44, of Greencastle, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Born February 23, 1982, in Olney, IL., she was the daughter of John L. and Linda (Totten) Craig. Heather was a graduate of East Richland High School “Class of 2000”. She went on to Olney Central College for two years and graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in Elementary Education.

Heather was a teacher for Greencastle Schools for 22 years, teaching at Ridpath Primary School, Deer Meadow Primary School, and 19 years at Tzouanakis Intermediate School. She recently received Teacher of the Year for the district. She was a member of Greencastle Church of Christ; Greencastle Lion’s Club; and GCTA.

Heather was involved in soccer throughout Putnam County. This includes serving as treasurer of the GHS Girls Soccer Parent Club, Putnam County Youth Soccer Association Board member, coach, and “soccer mom”. She was active in various 4-H projects, served as an assistant girls’ basketball coach; and served on several school committees.

She was preceded in death by her father, John.

Heather is survived by her husband, Robert Cantonwine; daughters Micah Cantonwine (Andrew Hamilton), Mikinley Cantonwine, & Maebrie Cantonwine; her mother, Linda; sisters Janice (David) Muhs and Paula (Mike) Peavler; brother John Mark Craig; in-laws Dale & Velvet Cantonwine; Becky & Marvin Voyles; and several Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM on Friday, June 12, 2026, at New Hope Fellowship Church 2450 N. US 231 Greencastle. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday, June 11th from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
