It is with sadness that we inform you of the death of Madame Irène Mayer on September 6, 2026, at the age of 86, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Fernand Laurin and the daughter of the late Georgiana Proulx and the late Gilbert Mayer.
She was the mother of Monique (Pierre), Nicole (the late Ray), Louise (Allan), and Guy (Rosanne), beloved grandmother of ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. She leaves behind her sister Rita, several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Julie, several brothers and sisters, and the father of her children, Jean Albert Avon.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the COOPÉRATIVE FUNÉRAIRE DE L’OUTAOUAIS located at 750, boulevard Maloney Est in Gatineau. The family will receive condolences starting at 9:15 AM.
