Isidora M. Garcia, age 85, was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, August 17, 2026. She was born January 1, 1941, in Victoria, to the late Faustian and Guadalupe Mercado. She was a Catholic.
Isidora is survived by her children, Alfred Garcia and wife Christina of Victoria, Beatrice Leos of Victoria, Esther Garcia and husband Felix of Richmond, VA, and Paul Garcia and wife Nolvia of Richmond, VA; sister, Rosie Humbert of Houston; and brother, Raymond Garza of Victoria; grandchildren, Lori Diaz (Domingo), Michelle Diaz (Israel), Alfred Garcia, Jr. (Liz), Abigail Salazar (Jesse), 12 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Isidora is preceded in death by her husband Pablo H. Garcia; her son Jesse Garcia, brother Martin Mercado and sisters, Otilia Garcia, Elena Mercado, and Olga Garcia.
Visitation will begin at 5pm, Tuesday, September 1, 2026, followed with a Rosary to be recited at 7pm.
Funeral Mass will be held at 1pm, Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, with Father Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Garcia, Jesse Santos, Mario Santos, Johnny Santos, Israel Santos Jr., and Israel Santos Sr.
